I remember being in a hurry a few month ago. We enhanced our business, buy acquiring a company that makes some stuff we don't in our products. A long story to tell, we acquired a company that makes something new, completely separated from what we did in our company before. The network there was completely different and the staff there used a whole lot of applications. Moreover, the firm had a distributed network and a complicated structure with many departments, organization units and thus many rules and a giant set of computers that had a lot of different stuff preinstalled and lot of stuff used on them. To make the long story short, I had been struggling with several solutions while selecting the tool that would best fit my needs. I tried a lot of small and huge tools dedicated completely to collecting the inventory. And then I found this desktop management tool from Scriptlogic. What I liked from the first trial was that the tool was capable of not only collecting the info from domain computers but also of managing them. I am using it for quite a short period of time but today I can say that the application of our company's choice is Desktop Authority.
